Level 3 Artifact

Commitment: 5 motes Activation: 5 motes, 1 Willpower

Power 3 Usefulness 3 Game Impact 4 Script Immunity 3 Drawback 5

This flute, made from an amalgamation of several magical materials primarily orichalcum, is no ordinary instrument. Its several swirls of magical materials color the instrument in a way that looks melodic and sooths the eyes with its mere appearance. When it is played is when the true nature of the flute is revealed as when essence is channeled through the instrument in the hands of a skilled artist, the minds of select individuals are lulled into hypnotic submission.

The piper may program a target with an action to be taken at a future time. All the piper must do is spend 5 motes and a Willpower to start the artifact after making a successful Charisma + Performance, Difficulty 3, roll. Then the Piper and the target lock into a contest of Willpower, if the Piper wins then he may give one unspoken command being as specific or elaborate as he wishes and the target will not be aware of receiving the command. The Command will hold for as many days as the Charisma of the Piper, after which the target will no longer be effected. The Command cannot take longer to execute than the Piper’s Permanent Essence in turns. The target will not attack themselves or others unless the target is predispostioned to do so. It is the Piper’s choice on whether or not the target remembers her actions after they are committed.

If the target wins the Willpower roll, then she is aware of the Piper attempting to make a command and what the command was to be.

The would work a bit better using more standard social combat concepts like MDV. Also, the timing could be more specific: Can this be done in combat? How often?
