Level 4 Artifact

It is said that there was an anathema known by the name or title of Jinzu who, in the dark era before the Ursurpation, had been offended by the righteous nature of Sextes Jylis and thus forged a weapon to deal with him.

Forged of the tainted anathemic metal, Orichalcum, and various unsavory materials gathered from the Wyld and Melfeas, the weapon is potent against those who bear the blood and essence of sextes Jylis. While its intented use was denied by the power of the Immaculate Dragon, it saw much use by its Unclean creator in the Ursurpation as it scythed down wood aspect dragonblooded and spirits aligned to the element of wood.

Historical records state that weapon is a single edged daiklave that resembles an over-sized kitchen knife with an orichalcum blade that shimmers with the prismatic colours of the rainbow. Its hilt is said to be a mother of pearl hued spiral; likely the horn of a behemoth or demon. The weapon also has three slots for hearthstones located in the blade just above the guard, in a vertical line rising from the hilt.

Rumours and myths place this weapon having being in various locales in Creation involving dragonblooded setbacks after the Ursurpation. The latest such rumours placing it as a weapon used by an Anathema in the service of the Bull of the North or in the hands of a Deathknight in the service of the underworld.

Without the magical metal bonus, the weapon functions exactly like an ordinary daiklave. For those who can attune the weapon properly for the orichalcum bonus, Jinzu’s vengence is so very much more.

Spending 2 motes in step 1 of combat resolution, the damage roll gains automatic successes equal to the weapon’s damage rating against any inanimate or non-magical wooden item, this includes trees.

Its final and most fearsome power is one that earmarks this weapon for destruction, should it ever fall into the hands of righteous immaculate monks and dragonblooded of the Realm.

This ability is effective only on wood aspected dragonblooded (who is at 16+ motes anima flux), a martial artist who has assumed the form charm of the Immaculate Wood Dragon style, or wood aspected spirits, elementals, godblooded and fey.

Against valid targets after its user spends 4 motes in step 1 of combat resolution, the weapon poisons the essence of its target upon a successful strike (even if damage is not rolled).

After being poisoned, whenever the victim spends any motes of essence, they must make a reflexive stamina + resistence roll at a difficulty equal to (their permenent essence trait). Success means that they only take 1 lethal level of damage. Failure results in the victim taking 4 lethal levels of damage.

The duration of the poison is equal to (the victim’s essence trait) minutes as long as they do not spend any motes. Expenditure of essence simply renews the duration of the effect.

While the essence poison runs rampant within the essence of its victims, they also suffer an internal penalty of 3 die. Additional exposures of the poison is not cumulative, beyond extending the duration of the effect.

Mechanically, the weapon uses the statistics of an orichalcum daiklave, but has an attunement cost of 6 motes.
