This Charm supplements a normal Join Battle roll. Roll Wits + Awareness as usual, but apply an external penalty to the roll equal to the highest Essence score among the opposing force. Until the Charm user makes an attack of some kind, she has a bonus to her Dodge and Parry pools (the full value, not the derived DV) equal to her Martial Arts.
