The Slayer drops into a light-footed, ready stance, never seeming to stand still. A sheath of his anima’s light wraps his body like a second skin, protecting him from attack (practitioners with no anima of their own have a transparent distortion wrap over them, as though a thin layer of liquid crystal overlaid their bodies.) The martial artist adds his (Martial Arts rating) to his natural lethal, bashing and aggravated soaks, and any attacker wishing to use a sorcerous, necromantic or charm-based effect (not including Excellency use) that has the martial artist as the direct target must pay an additional mote surcharge equal to the martial artist’s essence rating for the effect to work on him, otherwise the charm’s effect does not apply. (Attacks enhanced by charms still take place but are resolved as though the charm had not been activated.) This is a Shaping effect on the martial artist himself rather than his attacker, and is compatible with Lunar tattoos. Combos targeting the character pay a surcharge of 1 mote per charm in the combo, to a maximum of (Essencex2) additional motes. Any further charms in the combo do not add to the total.
