Unlike fights between drunks in taverns, the Drunken Fist is a highly refined Martial Arts Style which requires great physical and spiritual preparation from the martial artist. Its movements are swift, strong and unpredictable, resulting in attacks and dodges from unexpected postures and directions which confuse the opponents. It’s a style developed by an accomplished Solar sifu during High First Age to enjoy both the taste of combat and the inebrianting effects of the alcohol. Drunken Fist is a Celestial Martial Arts Style. It’s traditionally practiced by Solar Exalted, who can learn without a sifu, but can be learned only by Celestial Exalted. For the purposes of this style’s Charms, a dose of alcohol is equivalent to a glass of beer, a wineglass, a couple sips of sake or a sip of some stronger liquor.
Armor and Weapons: this martial art’s form weapons are the straight sword and any bottle of alcoholic drink. This style is incompatible with armor.
Notes on Mechanics: some Charms of this style need the Exalted to have ingested at least one dose of alcohol. If the character hasn’t drank anything, the Charm will not work and the Essence spent to activate it will be lost. This is why all Drunken Fist masters always carry a bottle of ale wherever they go.
Bottle of sake
The bottle of sake is usually used to store sake but has another function in the hands of a master of Drunken Fist. As a weapon, it becomes an extension of the martial artist’s arm and it’s considered a martial arts style weapon.
