Some time around Realm Year 460, a manual of etiquette began circulating through the households of refinement and distinction in the Realm. Authored by one “Kiu Sen”- almost certainly a pseudonym- its witty and insightful meditations on the nuances of social gatherings made it an instant classic. From the salons of the Dragon-Blooded to the sitting-rooms of peasant housewives, a copy of Kiu Sen’s untitled work was de rigeur. Within a decade or so, its success was such that it had established norms of protocol and etiquette that set the standard in any place that might rightfully call itself “civilized”. Today, the manual itself is far from ubiquitous- the principles it describes have been so absorbed into the fabric of Realm society that there’s little need to reference the original.

Perhaps that is why it took almost 300 years for anyone to discover the true purpose of the manual. A Chosen of Serenity and lover of classic literature, one Sadiyu Whitecrow, had obtained a rare vintage printing of the book. This one included illustrations, and it took the keen eye of a Sidereal martial artist to see what had been hidden therein. The book was more than a primer for housewives and maitre d’s- it was a cunningly concealed guide to a practice of martial arts forgotten by history. Sadiyu studied the text relentlessly over the next several years, prising the secrets of its strategies from seemingly innocuous pages.

Sadiyu recently met her end at the hands of an Abyssal assassin, but not before she had passed on some of the secrets of the Immaculately Gracious Hostess Style to her protege. The technique remains hidden from the world at large- even those who have been defeated by its effortless sidesteps and gently disarming counterattacks often do not know they were facing a unique fighting style.

This style must be used unarmored. Fans and wind-fire-wheels are considered form weapons for this style, as well as any improvised weapon drawn from domestic objects- parasols, teapots, and the like. All Charms in this style require a minimum rating in Socialize equal to the Martial Arts minimum.
