It is widely believed that Sorcery and the Martial Arts can lead one to greater enlightenment, or are at least a result of it. Some go further, and ask what would happen if one were to master both, and combine the results?
Emerald Essence Style is the answer to that question.
Incorporating techniques learned from both Sorcery and Terrestrial Martial Arts, Emerald Essence Style exists to raise up those who dwell at the bottom of the ladder, allowing them to utilise the lofty heights of Sapphire Circle Sorcery and Celestial Martial Arts. As such, it requires great skill in both. Only Mortals with a Permanent Essence of 3 who have attained one of the Sorcerous Absorbtions and mastered at least one other Terrestrial Martial Arts style may even consider taking this style. Should a practitioner ever Exalt, or otherwise change from being anything more than Mortal, he loses all Charms of this style and may not teach them, the careful understanding of Essence built up over the years wiped away by the glory of Exaltion and the superior understanding granted by it. To an Exalt looking back on this style, it seems a foolish and misguided pursuit, clearly inferior to their new understanding. Of course, Mortals cannot be taught how to channel Essence in the same way that an Exalt does, and their perspective on this style is too different for succesful teaching.
Unfortunately, no-one short of Autochthon, with the possible exception of the Maiden Of Secrets and Gaia, knows about the existence of this style, so any Mortal who wished to learn this style would have to reinvent the style themselves. What exactly this would require is entirely up to the Storyteller, as is whether this style could even exist at all.
Weapons and Armour: As this style focuses entirely on perfecting the user’s Essence through the lens of Sorcery and Martial Arts, it is compatible with no weapons and can not be practiced in armour.
