This mandala represents (most of) the cosmos in the Exalted role-playing game, when viewed from Yu-Shan (heaven).
From outside, moving inward:
- The outer gray circle represents Elsewhere.
- The dark gray star is the Underworld, with its 13 points representing the deathlords.
- The purple ring with random lines represents the chaos of the Wyld.
- The thin brown ring is Beneath, the home of the darkbrood and mountain folk.
- The prismatic circle is Creation, with its five poles: wood/green/east, fire/red/south, water/black/west, air/blue/north, earth/white/center.
- The five yellow circles move between the Underworld and Creation, symbolizing the journey of reincarnation.
- The gray square is Yu-Shan.
- The 48 dark gray arcs represent the gates leading from Creation to the out ring of heaven.
- The white circle represents the Jade Pleasure Dome in heaven.
- The 13 light gray arcs represent the 12 gates to heaven from the Blessed Isle, as well as the Calibration gate.
